JACKSON HOLE, WYO – County authorities have confirmed the death of an inmate in the Teton County Detention Center on Thursday, July 16. Kenneth Scott Millward, 47, was found dead in his cell early in the morning on Thursday. Detention officers originally thought the man to be asleep but called Jackson Hole Fire/EMS when Millward appeared unresponsive.

The Teton County Sheriff’s Office requested the Jackson Police Department respond to the jail to conduct an internal investigation into the cause of death. No foul play is suspected at this time. The family of the deceased has been notified.

County coroner Dr. Brent Blue said Millward likely died from advanced arteriosclerotic coronary vascular disease. Results from further testing, including microscopic and toxicology reports will be available in about two weeks.

Millward was being held on charges if suspected DUI.

Second to the death of a jail inmate as a news story, is the fact that Scott is the son of former Teton Co. Sheriff Roger Millward and a lifetime local. Why leave that out, Jake?

…probably ’cause most of the real locals don’t need the bio and the rest of the boys and girls in Jackson probably don’t much care about a man dying of coronary artery disease – No. 1 killer of Americans – in jail or out.

    Scott’s chasing pintos somewhere.
