Jackson Hole Marathon
On Saturday, August 30, 2014 the Town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Teton Village, Wyoming, along with the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce and Dreamchasers invite you to enjoy a day of fun, fitness and recreation in one of the most beautiful settings in the United States. The Marathon and Marathon Relay courses will begin on Sunday morning in the center of historic Jackson Hole, with the Half-Marathon course starting at a designated point along the Marathon course. All races will finish at Teton Village, where the post-race festivities will continue throughout the afternoon.
Whether you are looking for a great day of exercise and fun with friends, looking to test yourself against a competitive field, or maybe just to run an race in the great State of Wyoming, this promises to be an event you won’t want to miss. The Teton foliage will be in its finest autumn brilliance, the temperatures should be cool and ideal for a good run, and you’ll certainly enjoy the company of fellow outdoor enthusiasts. So mark your calendar now, tell the family and start training. We’ll be looking for you at the starting line – and at the finish to join in your celebration!
The Setting: The Jackson Hole Marathon course starts on Center Street, between Deloney and Gill, near the Town Square in historic downtown Jackson Hole. After running by the National Elk Refuge, within the first mile, it passes through through East Jackson and by the Snow King ski hill before joining the Community Pathway system by Flat Creek. Participants then head south of town and follow South Park Loop Road, with it’s majestic views of the Valley, to Highway 22 heading west into the quaint Town of Wilson, WY. From Wilson, the Community Pathway will lead runners toward the Grand Teton and the Finish Line at Teton Village, WY, home of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.and the iconic Red Tram and Clock Tower. The entire course is run on paved roads and/or paved pathways.
